About me
I’m an Icelandic singer-songwriter, composer, and author based in Reykjavík. I divide my time between touring - both as a solo artist and with Árstíðir - writing music for film and television, and pursuing my literary calling as a storyteller.
DEFINITELY MAYBE
My book about Nordic quirkiness and Faroese music.
How can the small and sparsley populated nations in the north produce so much great music?
In Definitely Maybe the reader gets to learn about the lovable and idiosyncratic cultural traits that inform the music wonders of all Nordic countries, with the Faroe Islands as the perfect case study - available now in softcover and as an ebook!
Music
Solo project
My solo project goes to the core of who I am as a storyteller and a traveller. All my albums are written on the road, and whether on a boat traveling down the Mississippi River, crossing the highlands of Mexico, or on the TransAmerica Trail, my albums take you along for the journey.
Soundtrack
Storytelling is at the heart of everything I do, and my soundtracks are no different. I collaborate closely with directors to uncover the deeper symbolism within a story, translating it into music. Most recently, I composed the score for Little Disasters (Paramount+), starring Diane Kruger.

About
Árstíðir
Formed in 2008, Árstíðir has released 9 studio albums and toured more than 30 countries across three continents. The band went viral with an impromptu performance of an ancient Icelandic hymn in a train station in Germany, cementing its position as Iceland’s premier folk band on the international stage.
About
The Bookstore Band
When in Reykjavík, I perform regularly with The Bookstore Band. Composed of some of the country’s finest musicians, it is Iceland’s busiest cover band, performing every day of the year in a historic bookstore in Reykjavík, as well as taking on high-profile corporate gigs both at home and abroad.
